Joshua and Julie Mead are serving in Senegal, West Africa. They are sent by Fostoria Baptist Church in Fostoria Michigan and are working with Baptist International Missions, INC. They have one child, Tristan Allan.
Josh grew up in rural North Branch, Michigan. He was called of God to be a missionary at the age of 13. While attending FaithWay Baptist College of Canada, God led Josh to the field of Senegal. While at college, he met Julie Burns and they where married in 2005. After several months of deputation and a year and a half of language school, Josh and Julie arrived in Senegal in September of 2009.
Julie grew up in Sonora, Nova Scotia. She was saved at the age of 11 and felt called into ministry shortly after. She attended FaithWay Baptist College of Canada. After graduation, Julie worked as a teacher in Newfoundland for one year and in Barrie, Ontario for three. While teaching in Barrie, she met Josh who informed her of his plans to go to Senegal. They were married in July of 2005.
Tristan is Josh and Julie’s firstborn. He enjoys crawling, laughing, eating, and playing with his toys. Some of his favorite hobbies include grabbing whatever computer cord he can get his hands on.
